As part of our Mining & Resources industry team, you will play an instrumental role in addressing our customer's biggest challenges and most exciting opportunities. You will be part of a cross-functional team focused on increasing technology awareness and adoption of cloud solutions through engaging directly with senior stakeholders. Key job responsibilities
The Enterprise Business Development Manager works in collaboration with the field team to engage the Australian Mining & Resources customers, building connections between needs and solutions. As a result, the BDM is responsible to develop and execute go-to-market strategies that are executed at the account and industry level. Mining & Resources is a broad assignment covering both Mining and Metals companies, service providers and partners in the METS sector. Your responsibilities will include helping to identify key business opportunities, enabling key customers, identifying strategic partnerships, assembling cross-functional engagement teams and driving business and technical level engagement to create significant new opportunity pipelines.
In addition, you will enable the AWS sales teams with industry knowledge, trends, and strategies that will enable them to more effectively drive their day-to-day interactions with key customers. Working closely with internal teams including AWS Solutions Architects, Professional Services, Product & Services teams, you will assist in developing and promoting cloud best-practices and help evolve AWS offerings for more rapid enterprise adoption.
- Serve as a key member of the Enterprise Mining & Resources team in helping to drive AWS marketing, sales, and technical strategies for the industry.
- Define and size customer segments, identify key customers, and identify industry partners including ISVs and system integrators.
- Create strategic Business Development plans for identified opportunities and ensure these plans are consistent with the AWS strategic direction.
- Develop industry-specific messaging and collateral materials that effectively communicate the AWS value proposition for enterprise cloud computing, including datacenter-to-cloud extension and migration.
- Develop and execute the strategic Business Development plans, working closely with internal stakeholders (including sales and marketing, partner, solution architects etc).
- Understand the unique business/technical requirements and complexities facing our Mining & Resources customers, working closely with internal teams to guide the direction of product and service offerings.
- Prepare and present business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to closing new enterprise customers.
- Manage complex enterprise contract negotiations, in cooperation with AWS legal and professional services teams.
- Creative prospecting through events, industry partnerships, campaigns, business partners, and other activities to identify new customers.

The Mining, Energy & Industrial team focuses on Australian headquartered enterprises across mining, upstream oil and gas, power & utilities, and industrial industries. Our customers span both technical and business roles and are tackling large scale transformation opportunities including decarbonisation, production optimisation, health and safety, exploration, supply chain & logistics, automated operations and more. AWS help our customers leverage the cloud to modernize their business, reduce cost and increase agility. We collaborate with our customers to re-imagine the future and push the boundary of technology to some of the most isolated locations in the world.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- Deep experience and understanding of the mining and resources sector in Australia.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills - able to effectively articulate the AWS Energy & Resources strategy to customers, partners and internal staff.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience influencing internal and external stakeholders
- Experience with, and detailed knowledge of the support market and insights related to cloud computing and IT
- Experience proactively growing customer and industry relationships, through thought leadership and creation of industry specific messing
