ABOUT THE ROLE
The Business Development Manager is a newly created position reporting to the Director of Corporate Services & Innovation (DCSI) working across all Lighthouse programs to support the development and management of strategic business development initiatives.
The primary purpose of this role is to identify, establish, and develop business and development opportunities by promoting Lighthouse’s mission, values, vision, and goals through the establishment of innovative business and government partnerships; building opportunities to support Lighthouse’s strategy and growth plan.
The role will represent Lighthouse while managing and enhancing strategic partnerships and work to foster relationships across the Government, NFP and private sectors.
Business Development
- In consult with the DCSI, develop and implement Lighthouse’s Strategic Business Development Strategy in line with growth opportunities presented through the Government and private sectors.
- Seek out, apply for and manage funding opportunities and submissions for government tenders.
- Identify and develop diverse business growth and development opportunities in line with Lighthouse’s strategy.
- Actively contribute to organisational improvements and policy development.
- Undertake and work alongside all internal teams to identify program and service needs, supporting program reviews, development, and implementation.
- Keep up to date with sector news and relevant research.
- Work together with the DCSI to thoughtfully develop, manage, and enhance key strategic partnerships and stakeholder relationships across Government, NFP and private sectors to support strategic growth.
- Identify collaborative business development relationships and represent Lighthouse at internal and external stakeholder meetings and forums.
- Work in partnership with colleagues across Lighthouse to support growth opportunities.
- Represent Lighthouse on working groups, at conferences and high-level meetings where relevant and position the organisation as an industry leader.
- Undertake feasibility studies and plan, write and oversee business development proposals.
- Explore and project manage new program and business development activities.
- Support and provide professional advice on business development, program and tendering planning processes.
- Develop or contribute to the design and rollout of business development tools.
- Regular supervision.
- Group reflective practice sessions.
- Ongoing training and development through the Lighthouse Institute.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Capacity to work productively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Commitment and understanding to communicating of the vision and work of Lighthouse Foundation.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks at once, meet deadlines, KPI’s and work effectively under pressure.
- High levels of computer literacy.
- Ability to work collaboratively at program, organisational and sector levels.
