An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Renewables Business Development to join our sales team and accelerate UON's decarbonisation journey with market leading technology.
- Full Time Position (Monday to Friday) with occasional site travel dependent on client requirements.

- Develop, lead and implement annual sales strategy/plans for UON Smart renewable solutions to achieve a sales budget in line with UON sales targets
- Develop UON SMART CELL value proposition including clear and concise benefits and features of the UON SMART CELL solutions
- Maintain market awareness for opportunities, major projects, market trends, new products, and competitor activity
- Liaise with marketing manager to promote UON renewable capabilities across the target market through digital media campaigns, conferences, exhibitions and promotional material.
- Liaise with Engineering and R&D teams to develop costing and selection models to assist Business Development team with establishing and growing business opportunities
- Liaise with the Commercial team to develop dynamic financial modelling for UON solutions and applications in line with customer requirements
- Mentor the Business Development and relevant UON team members in all aspects of the UON Smart renewable solution deliverables
- Self-sourcing new business leads through multiple ways including cold calling, networking, referrals, referral partners/events etc.
- To ensure that the network of current and potential customers is expanded and maintained through weekly external face to face and telephone sales call
- Prepare and submit proposals that include technical and commercial details of the client’s needs in accordance with UON’s terms and conditions, negotiate contracts and secure orders
- Submit market analysis reports regarding competitor activity, potential projects and market trends
- Ability to travel to remote locations to visit clients, develop leads and deliver solutions
To be successful in this role it is essential you have the following:
- A minimum of 8 years industry experience working in a similar role selling in B2B, face-to-face selling role predominantly searching for new business prospects
- Knowledge of renewable power generation and storage across the mining, energy, agriculture industry in Western Australia
- Demonstrated Business Development and account management experience in renewable energy and power sectors
- Technical background across renewable and power applications
- Previous experience leading and coaching a team of professionals to continuously improve delivery and drive growth in the business
