The Role
Reporting to the Industrial Business Development Manager and working from a home-based office, you will be a strategic thinker and problem solver who is self-motivated and proficient at time management.
This is an exciting time at Makita. Your ability to assess new industrial product opportunities and develop successful, long-term end user business relationships will be instrumental to your success. You will be part of a national Business Development team but will also work autonomously in your role as an Industrial Business Development Representative.
Previous experience working with power tools and equipment in an industrial environment will be looked upon favourably but is not essential.
Due to the high level of engagement with a diverse industrial end user audience, you will be required to travel both locally and regionally within WA.

Primary responsibilities:
- Building relationships with targeted end users for the purpose of product research and development.
- Working closely with key dealers and the Makita sales team to capitalise on opportunities.
- Performing product demonstrations and presentations.
- Responding to questions relating to market demands and new products.
- Actively seeking solutions to workplace challenges.
- Reporting feedback on products from trial clients and well as general market information.
Skills and experience you will need:
- Experience with power tools and equipment.
- Success working within a similar role.
- Relevant industry contacts.
- Demonstrated Sales/Customer Service experience.
- Finely tuned multi-level communication skills.
- Intermediate MS Office skills (i.e. PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
- Ability to react and adapt within a fast-paced environment.
