The Role

We are in an exciting phase as we take our new cloud product, Ascend to our valued vet clinic customers to complement our existing RXWorks and VisionVPM applications. We are now seeking a motivated Business Development Specialist to join our Technology Solutions team based at Eight Mile Plains. You will play a pivotal role in expanding the market share of Covetrus software offerings in the veterinary industry by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities through market research, lead generation, and relationship building.

This role would suit someone from a clinical background (Vet, Vet Nurse or Practice Manager) looking to stay within the industry but transition to a new career in sales.

Your main responsibilities will be;

  • Collaborating with our sales and marketing teams to generate and qualify potential leads through the utilisation of tools such as CRM, networking, market research, and industry events.
  • Maintaining Business Development activities in Salesforce.
  • Scheduling demonstration with relevant vet clinics and development of tailored business cases that present value to our clients.
  • Negotiation and preparation of pricing proposals.
  • Development of key market insights based on feedback from clients as well as staying across market trends, competitor activities and emerging opportunities.
  • Assisting with tracking and reporting on sales pipelines and various Business Development metrics.

About You

To be successful you will have;

  • Demonstrated experience as a Vet Nurse, Practice Manager or Veterinarian with transferable business acumen in sales.
  • Demonstrated experience using various Practice Management Information Systems (PIMS) and an interest in technology
  • Demonstrated ability to build lasting, value-add relationships with customers.
  • Expert communication skills, with a well-developed ability to listen, build rapport, present, and produce clear written communications.
  • A self motivated and autonomous approach to planning your work with a resilience and tenacity to see things through.
