Position overview
The Business Intelligence Analyst will manage all analytics for forecasting and capacity requirements between NBN & BSA, plus also be accountable for the management of BSA field capacity data and reporting outputs. Each month the analyst will prepare and present BSA’s response to NBN rolling forecasts which forms the basis of our SLA agreement to committed work volumes highlighting to the business any risk in successful output of these elements of the contract. In addition, the analyst will also be required to ensure that forecasts are digested & distributed in a user-friendly format to wider teams in the BSA group. This is to allow but not limited to targeted on-boarding, budgets & financial plans to be produced based on the data contained within NBN forecasts. The analyst will also be responsible to review and develop reporting tools and systems to identify continuous improvement opportunities to the operational teams in each contract area from a workflow and planning perspective. The analyst will present data-based outputs for BSA’s Forecast & Capacity team & be responsible for directly liaising with their counterparts within the NBN team & wider management streams within BSA, such as the field, commercial & workforce.
 
Position responsibilities
  • Manage and develop system and reporting tools to assist the wider BSA NBN business in understanding NBNs planning and capacity model.
  • Streamline and automate data sets and reporting to improve planning team outputs and information in both Tableau, Power BI and Excel formats.
  • Manage and develop relationships with internal and external clients / stakeholders to ensure delivery of agreed outcomes & results.
  • Accountable to develop and present BSA’s response to NBN’s rolling forecast within deadline and accepted in line with SLA’s.
  • Assist with the development in collaboration with the workforce team on-boarding strategies should they be needed based on forecasted demand or devise mitigating strategies to combat such shortfalls & work through these strategies with NBN.
  • Develop excellent client relationships with the NBN’s Forecast and Calendar teams who shall be our direct counterparts.
  • Work closely with both these teams to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Additionally develop & manage the same internal relationship with key streams of BSA’s business.
  • Ensure tools / trackers are maintained and managed to allow BSA to assess our current field output and judge if there are any risks to meeting our agreed commitments to NBN.
  • Other tasks as required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in SQL / Power Bi or other database / analytics software, performance management or commercial
  • Proven data analytics and solution-based outcome outputs in same type business operations
  • Minimum 2 years practical experience in a Capacity / Forecasting / Supply & Demand related role. Additional benefit would be if this is within the telecommunications industry
Skills and Attributes
  • Demonstrate experience with supply & demand type planning and forecasting
  • Very high level Excel skills along with any SQL, CRM, Power BI & Database management or software experience
  • Development of and streamlining data based outputs and tools to provide continuous improvement outcomes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work with and manage a variety of different stakeholder and teams from multiple business segments. Both internally and externally.
  • Extensive experience and demonstrated success in a similar planning / forecasting type team in a medium-large business with similar headcount and geographic distribution
  • Demonstrated sound technical knowledge
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully resolving situational problems
  • Good numerical ability and attention to detail. Able to work quickly and accurately under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • A good understanding of various telecommunications infrastructure or the NBN network
