About the Role
Based in Docklands Melbourne, we are looking for an enthusiastic and career focused, creative and detail-oriented Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team. You must be able to work autonomously, follow clearly articulated processes and have a clear ambition to develop and progress to more senior responsibilities.
What You Will Be Doing
You will be required to perform the following tasks, among other responsibilities:
· Researching, programming, and testing source codes and procedures for data extraction, transformation and loading to meet application requirements.
· Researching and analysing methods to improve the performance of source code.
· Documenting technical specifications for Business Intelligence (BI) developments.
· Configuring applications and web servers to meet clients’ requirements.
· Building and deploying analytical applications using BI tools such as Yellowfin, Sybase, SQL etc.
· Upgrading and rolling out BI applications and ensure they perform to specification.
· Follow a project plan, and where deviations occur, proactively communicate with management and clients on progress
· Providing training and support to clients, logging client enquiries and the resolutions provided. Maintain documentation and KPI reports to continuously improve BI functionality.
· Supporting new staff to develop skills in BI applications development and maintenance
What You Need to Have
- An IT degree with strong SQL knowledge and advanced Excel knowledge.
- Demonstrated experience in utilising Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Yellowfin, etc.
- At least 3 years of experience working in a Software Company in an Analyst role.
- Ability to work proficiently in a team environment.
- Solid problem-solving skills and an enquiring mind.
- A positive, can do attitude in a work environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with people at all levels.
- Willingness to take ownership of problems and investigate issues and see them through to completion.
- Demonstrated ability to work in demanding situations and prioritise work demands.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic and proven fast learner.
