A leading academic institution has recently upgraded its financial Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. They require a skilled data analyst to join their team and translate existing business needs into a functional data model for reporting purposes.Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business users to understand and document detailed requirements in a complex financial environment.
- Translate these requirements into a multi-dimensional data model (star schema) suitable for generating reports.
- Leverage your experience with Business Intelligence (BI) projects to design and maintain effective BI solutions.
- Focus on data modeling, transformation, migration, and profiling within a large and intricate system landscape.
- Demonstrate a strong willingness to adapt to emerging technologies, new processes, and evolving business needs.
- Extensive experience working with business users to define and develop detailed requirements in complex systems.
- Proven ability to translate requirements into multi-dimensional data models (star schemas).
- Prior experience with BI projects, particularly in data modeling, transformation, migration, and profiling for large-scale environments.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), relationship building, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise format tailored to the audience.
- Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and develop various documents (data models, technical specifications, use cases, and business processes).
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite, MS SQL Server, and Data Warehouse architecture.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills honed through a business analyst background.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with Azure Data Lake environments.
- Familiarity with the Higher Education sector.
- Experience modeling financial data is a significant advantage.
