The Financial Services division, led by the Group CFO, partners with all areas of the Commonwealth Bank to provide financial control function and specialist advice on financial management and strategy. This advice covers finance, audit, treasury, investor relations, security and property.
We work closely with our stakeholders to help them understand their technology and operations costs and deliver current and future strategic and financial plans.
The purpose of this role will be to support the Technology Finance team with BI support, in the form of:
- Capacity creation – driving process and report automation and addressing manual data manipulation and pain points within the team
- Capability development – Driving and building capability and uptake on Alteryx and Tableau platforms
- Insights & Analytics – Partner with the team in generating insights & analytics to enable business leaders to make better decisions more efficiently
- Governed Data – Working with Support Unit Data Office in implementing and managing data governance deliverables
Delivery of Reporting, Analytics & Insight
- Act as the point of contact for finance related BI queries, initiatives and projects
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve, automate, simplify and de-risk existing BAU finance processes leveraging BI tooling
- Ownership for BI solutions productionised through the BI Hub
- Partner and build BI solutions to enable both finance and business stakeholders
- Accountability for owning and customising finance wide BI solutions to enable usage across the Technology Finance team
- Partner with BU Finance teams in building insights and analytics through provisioning of approved data, efficient and effective analytics/visualisation leveraging BI tooling
- Drive accountability to ensure consistent, quality and timely strategic solutions to analytical capability and/or reporting solutions.
- Deliver a quality customer experience balancing customer needs while ensuring adherence to established governance and development standards
- Curiosity to collaborate with other teams in solving problems or discovering new ways to drive value across our platforms.
Governance & Security
- Accountability for the team’s security, ensuring access and permissions are applied and maintained across the BI platform and solutions
- Promote and ensure compliance with the GDO/SUDO (Group Data Office/ Support Unit Data Office) published guidelines across our BI & Analytics Stack
- Act as a point of escalation to data offices (GDO/SUDO) as required for any instances where the team is failing to adhere to established BI standards and requested best practices
Capability & Community
- Provide education on data or BI tools best practices, processes, governance, standards (enabled through BI Hub and FS BI Community of practice)
Your skills and experience:
- Strong stakeholder management skills (must have)
- Background / knowledge of financial management deliverables and processes (must have)
- Problem solving and troubleshooting (must have)
- Analytical thinking (must have)
- Financial modelling and analysis (nice to have)
- Data design and data management (nice to have)
- Alteryx or Tableau product experience (must have)
- SQL coding and scripting (must have)
- Python (nice to have)
- Training & coaching experience (nice to have)
- Relevant degree in Business Intelligence and or Finance
- Alteryx &/or Tableau certification
