The Role
In this role, you will provide technical expertise, leadership and direction to the team of Business Intelligence (BI) Developers, Data Engineers and Testers. You will be responsible for report development and support, data warehouse development and support, implementation and support of Business Intelligence tools, platforms, frameworks and architecture ensuring all solutions are fit for purpose.
This position analyses the performance and availability of the PTA's BI Systems and Services, identifies problem areas, proposes and implements solutions to enhance these systems and services. In this position you will lead the team that translates user requirements into BI solutions and ensure that complete documentation is developed and maintained.
About you
The successful candidate will have well developed leadership and management skills, including the ability to empower teams and individuals, develop a rapport with internal and external stakeholders and provide support that enables the organisation to succeed.
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in data analytics or other relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in:Managing a team supporting BI for a large complex organisation
- Managing a team supporting a Data-warehouse for a large complex organisation
- BI and data warehouse tools and products such as; Microsoft Power BI, SAP Business Objects, SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Analysis Services, SQL Server Integration Services and/or other modern data platforms and BI tools
- An understanding of the methodology and principles of Data-warehousing.
- Well developed conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to analyse information and data and provide reports relating to the findings.
This is a pool recruitment process where suitable applicants will be placed in a pool for 12 months from which permanent or fixed term appointments with the possibility of further extension(s) and/or permanency will be made. Currently there is one (1) full time permanent position available for immediate appointment.
