Business Manager

Salary
$80,000 to $100,000 (starting salary commensurate with experience, room for growth within the scaling business)
We’re on a mission to solve Practice Management for the modern accountant.
As part of our mission, we need to find the person on their own mission to solve back-office management for the modern cloud software business. A dynamic and organised Business Manager to join our team, working with the CEO and Finance Manager to set our business up for success and scalability.
This role encompasses a wide array of responsibilities across back-office administration and operations, facilities management, establishing and continuously improving process, policy and procedures, people and culture support, information technology, and special projects.
You work well in a fast-paced environment, organising yourself and others to get things done, proactively solving problems, and supporting the CEO in building the business (and your role) as we go.
What the day-to-day looks like
- Coordinate and oversee the execution of back-office operations, including setting targets and KPIs.
- Organise internal and external events, including travel arrangements.
- Facilities management including office lease negotiations, overseeing the coordination of repairs, maintenance, and supplies.
- Prepare documentation for meetings, including minute-taking and circulation of action items and assisting the CEO with actions from meetings where required.
- Contribute to a process of continuous quality improvement across the business and specifically areas of responsibility, including reviewing and introducing policies to the team.
- Assist with HRM across the lifecycle from recruitment, ongoing engagement and performance management, through to departures and exit interviews.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety (“WHS”) staff training and fire safety equipment maintenance, and oversee management of compliant record-keeping.
- Contribute to workforce and resource planning and forecasting in consultation with the CEO.
- Facilitate and manage other special projects and duties as required as part of a growing business.
Skills and Experience needed for your mission
- Recognised tertiary qualifications preferred.
- Knowledge of business and management principles and practices demonstrated by experience in a similar role.
- Desire and ability to build this business as we go, and to grow with the role as the business evolves.
- Able to work independently and with a team.
- Experience in managing and leading a diverse team.
- Planning and organisational skills of the highest standard.
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement.
P.S. This position may require you to travel outside of the standard location from time-to-time. Further, as you will be involved in meeting some high-level business needs and deadlines, the position may require you to work outside the standard hours from time-to-time.
