About the Role

The Projects and Assurance team safeguards CFA's Project Management Framework and collaborates with Project Managers on business, technology, and capital/fleet projects. They support Framework implementation and actively manage specific programs and projects.

Reporting to Manager, Projects & Assurance, we have an opportunity for a Business Project Manager. You will contribute extensive project management knowledge to bolster CFA's project management capabilities. You will oversee various projects, advance the CFA Project Management Framework and ensure successful project execution. This role involves building strong relationships with Senior Responsible Officers and key stakeholders, ensuring effective Framework application.

Those in application will offer experience and certification in Lean methodologies, PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP and change management methodologies, along with proficiency in using contemporary project management tools for planning and reporting.

As the Business Project Manager, you will ensure high-quality management by adhering to CFA's Project Management Framework and conduct effective monitoring and reporting. Regular meetings, will see you review progress and resolve issues, ensuring alignment with objectives and budget compliance. You will maintain project documentation, lead and motivate teams and build management capabilities. Collaborating with the Projects and Assurance Team, you will support Framework implementation, offer coaching and engage in the Project Manager Community of Practice. Additionally you will offer advise on Framework improvements, prepare reports, create training materials and ensure consistency by liaising with other Project Managers.

About You

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Proven Project Management Expertise: Relevant tertiary qualifications, extensive experience, and a strong track record of successfully managing projects in complex environments.
  • Project Planning experience: Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality throughout the project life cycle with proven experience in developing comprehensive project plans encompassing scope, cost, schedule and resource management, all aligned with project objectives to deliver the stated benefits.
  • Stakeholder Relationship Management: Appreciation for the role of volunteers as primary stakeholders in an organisation, with the ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Exceptional ability to manage and influence stakeholder relationships effectively, ensuring high engagement levels throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Superior Communication skills: Capable of preparing and delivering professional project management reports and briefings tailored for senior management, brigade members, and volunteers.
  • Problem-Solving skills: Demonstrate the ability to prioritise tasks, managing competing demands, and a strong understanding of project risk management principles with the capability to identify and manage a wide range of risks and business dependencies.
  • Analytical Skills: Demonstrate the ability to analyse data effectively and translate it into actionable insights, with a systemic approach to articulating complex issues and updates to articulate complex issues and updates to different audiences.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing project requirements, shifting priorities, and evolving circumstances while maintaining project disciplines and focus to keep projects on track.
  • Highly Regarded:
    • Experience or accreditation in lean methodologies, prince2 practitioner, PMP as well as change management methodologies will be highly regarded.
    • Utilisation of Modern Project Management Tools: Experienced in the use of contemporary project management tools for planning and reporting purposes.
