STAR Community Services is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Business Services Assistant to join our team in Cleveland. STAR Community Services LTD is a leading not-for-profit organisation providing transport, aged care, and disability support services to the elderly, frail, and those with disabilities. What you'll be doing
This is a generalist Business / HR role covering a wide range of support and assistance to the Business Services Manager and other senior Managers in the organisation which helps meet the business needs for STAR Community Services.
What the role involves (not limited to):
- Co-ordinate candidate recruitment, including liaising with external stakeholders such as job access providers.
- Schedule interviews for the relevant senior managers and COO OR Conduct interviews and work with the Business Services team to on-board the candidate.
- Set up induction days, coordinating with the Training & Development officer ensuring training is completed when required
- Deliver staff organisational inductions, to accomplish the organisation’s goals.
- Work effectively to coordinate all documentation for new employees, ensuring they receive comprehensive new starters packs, contracts of employment including probity checks information promptly.
- Assist the Business Services Manager with employment contracts and HR issues.
- Take instruction from Managers, COO and CEO regarding communication & correspondence with the workforce.
- Ensure worker compliance is up to date in relation to key role requirements
- Proactively assist new employees and existing with resolving any issues, providing a point of contact to workers for any workplace issues or complaints.
- Keep abreast with current and emerging human resource and employee relations issues.
- Assist the Business Services Manager in ensuring Contractor compliance is up to date.
Qualifications & Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Business OR Human Resources OR a minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar environment
- Previous experience managing end-to-end recruitment activities
- Strong attention to detail skills with a focus on ensuring accurate preparation of documentation
- Ability to exercise discretion/confidentiality at all times and sensitive information appropriately
- High level IT competency including the MS Office Suite and preferably HRIS systems experience
