NextGen Jobs has an exciting opportunity of a 12 month Business Traineeship in the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing. Do you have an interest in launching your career in the government while earning a Certificate III in Business and a wage?

Youth Employment Scheme (YES)

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Be aged between 15 and 29 years at the commencement of the traineeship 
  • Not currently engaged in tertiary education 
  • Not have attained a university level qualification (excluding 1-4 certificates)
Position Overview 
The Administration Support Officer Trainee will work as part of a small team accountable for developing and implementing programs and practices designed to support culture, leadership and gender equality at the DFFH. This position will provide administration support to both central and operational areas of the department to develop and implement a range of organisational learning and development, culture, and gender equality activities.

Key accountabilities 
  • Support the Culture, Leadership, and Gender Equality Team with various administrative tasks.
  • Coordinate initiatives and training schedules by liaising with external providers and other teams within People & Culture.
  • Maintain local databases and reporting systems using approved software.
  • Analyze standard reports and data.
  • Manage team inboxes and handle correspondence and requests.
  • Perform computer-based tasks including drafting communications and data entry.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and collaborate effectively within the team.
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with legislative requirements and department policies.
  • Follow OH&S practices and complete training to obtain your qualification.
