The Opportunity
We have an exciting role based at our studio (Malvern) and/or warehouse (Tullamarine), with travel opportunities.
Our decorative lighting category, which covers all styles and tastes, has experienced substantial growth and now requires a dedicated leader. You'll design and execute a strategy to drive this category to achieve sales and profit through product planning, development and purchasing.
Your keen eye for detail, strong focus on achieving commercial success, excellent communication skills and persuasive negotiation skills will ensure you thrive in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Development:
- Create and execute balanced product ranges from scratch.
- Develop buying plans that attract and engage customers.
Financial and Sales Performance:
- Achieve sales and profit targets through strategic buying.
- Conduct post-seasonal analysis to guide future decisions.
- Use sales and market data to inform commercial choices.
Collaboration and Team Leadership:
- Build strong relationships working with our interior design clients and the sales, marketing, and product management teams.
Market and Trend Analysis:
- Evaluate market opportunities and adapt to trends.
- Stay informed on competitor activities and market trends to identify opportunities.
Customer Focus and Support:
- Support the sales teams with product knowledge and training.
- Develop customer-focused category plans to meet sales and profit targets.
- Manage retail price architecture for market competitiveness.
About You:
- Minimum of 2 years in a buying role. Homewares or lighting experience is preferred.
- Serious about your role, but light hearted in nature.
- Keen interest in home décor and design trends.
- Results-driven, eager to learn, with a can-do attitude.
- Experience with Cin7 and Adobe Illustrator is a plus.
- Willing to travel.
