Position Overview: We are seeking a person to join our small team of craftsman in our Wagga Wagga workshop. This person will play a crucial role in creating high-quality wooden furniture and cabinetry. The ideal candidate should have some prior experience in creating things out of solid wood, have a meticulous attention to detail, and have a genuine passion for creating functional and aesthetically pleasing pieces.
We will employ primarily on passion for the trade, so if you do not possess the detailed skills & experience but are a keen woodworker and willing to learn, we welcome you to still apply.
This position will involve:
- Woodworking Excellence: Learning to use your expertise to select, cut, shape, and assemble wood pieces into tables, cabinets, chairs and other furniture pieces, with precision and attention to detail.
- Craftsmanship: Employ traditional and modern woodworking techniques to produce high-quality, durable, and visually appealing pieces that meet clients' specifications and design requirements.
- Custom Creations: Collaborate with our Sydney based Design Team and colleagues to understand project requirements, provide insights, and contribute to the construction process for custom-made furniture and cabinetry.
- Machine Operation: Safely and proficiently operate woodworking machinery and tools, ensuring adherence to safety guidelines and maintenance protocols.
- Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality control measures to ensure that each piece meets established standards for durability, aesthetics, and functionality.
- Time Management: Efficiently manage your time and workload to meet project deadlines while maintaining the highest level of craftsmanship.
- Material Selection: Assist in selecting appropriate wood materials, hardware, and other components required for each project.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Having had direct prior experience in this area of woodworking is not essential but being able to prove that you’ve had some experience in woodwork either via a hobby or professionally is an essential requirement.
- Communication: Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, clients, and designers, translating concepts into tangible creations.
