In the role of Cadet -Cultural Heritage) -Identified- you will learn how to provide guidance and expertise in Cultural Heritage to TMR's Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP) projects.
Under supervision, some of your responsibilities will include:
o Identify appropriate cultural and community stakeholders, working with and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with all relevant parties to assist with effective management of natural, social and cultural resources.
o Demonstrate cultural awareness and knowledge of cultural protocols when interacting with Aboriginal groups of south west Queensland.
o Initiate, encourage and facilitate greater engagement with Aboriginal community groups across south west Queensland to promote involvement and greater understanding of culturally significant landscapes, meeting places, forums and events.
o Develop research skills of archaeological site surveys and assemble historical data to evaluate authenticity and significance of findings to be used in Cultural Heritage documentation associated with infrastructure projects.
o Learn about Cultural Heritage Management Agreements and/or Plans that comply with legislative requirements whilst developing knowledge of relevant Cultural Heritage policies, manuals and processes.
* Attend all required classes (including lectures, tutorials and practicals) as well as pass and successfully complete all examinations and assessments required to obtain your qualification, as described under 'mandatory requirements'.

Mandatory qualifications
* Enrolled in a Diploma, Associates Degree or Bachelor in:
* Archaeology,
* Anthropology,
* First Nations Studies
* Heritage Conservation,
* Heritage Management
* Social Science,
* Or suitable equivalent qualification as determined by the delegate.
Desirable Requirements
* Valid Queensland 'C' class drivers licence or equivalent

* In this role, you will be able to combine your lived experience of First Nations culture, practices and protocols to demonstrate your knowledge of the distinct Aboriginal communities across this region.
* You will apply your culturally appropriate engagement and communication skills to guide respectful interactions when delivering Cultural Heritage services whilst working throughout south west Queensland.
