Paramount Coffee Project is a bright, airy cafe located in the lobby of Paramount House. It has a bustling morning coffee trade and a busy weekend brunch trade. We are open 7 days from 7-4. We are very coffee focused and feature a rotating mix of coffees from roasters all around Australia. We also take great pride in our food and floor service.
Qualities we look for in our staff are friendliness, passion about giving great service, and being a great team player. We work closely with our building neighbours including Paramount House Hotel and Golden Age Cinema.
Qualifications & experience
- 1 year management experience in a busy cafe
- Full working rights in Australia
- Basic knowledge about specialty coffee
- Current RSA
- Available to work 1 weekend shift/week
Tasks & responsibilities
- supervise all aspects of service within the cafe. They will oversee the various departments (coffee bar, floor and kitchen) to ensure service runs smoothly and products are served to a consistently high standard.
- The role requires providing exceptional customer service to our guests at all times.
- Ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of our menu items and be skilled in navigating customer interactions, both positive and negative. They will conduct themselves professionally and be able to represent the company and our vision at all times.
- We want someone who will uphold our company values, policies and standards of service. And seek to improve these standards! This includes training and monitoring of staff to be consistent with our sequence of service, monitoring the flow of the pass and ensuring products are being made and presented correctly, and supervising workflow to ensure we are always operating efficiently.
- The right candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A big part of the job is managing staff by supporting them during training, resolving conflict, and ensuring they are always representing the business correctly.
- Must be confident in solving problems as they arise and performing maintenance tasks independently, or with the assistance of upper management.
- Experience with sales targets, Profit and Loss reports and working to a budget. Ideally you will be confident in implementing strategies to optimise sales, and reporting on the performance of the business.
