Cafe Prep Cook

Brooklyn Boy Bagels – Sydney’s top producer of authentic New York bagels, artisan breads and pastries – is looking for an experienced Café Prep Cook to drive the food direction of its first flagship café in the Sydney CBD. Our mission is to make this the most authentic NYC food experience in the city. This is a Monday to Friday position.

Duties include:

-         Preparing ingredients according to Che's specifications, including chopping,        peeling, and slicing 

-          Mixing and Packing the Cream Cheese 

-          Maintaining Cleanliness and order in kitchen 

-          Routine Kitchen Tasks 

-          Design efficient cooking processes with minimised wastage

-          Inventory and food waste control

-          Assisting Chef with Cooking food items as needed 

-          Overseeing systems to adhere to strict food safety standards

       Ensuring high standards of cleanliness of all areas in the kitchen and of equipment

       Support the Chef in maintaining, ordering and controlling food stocks within budget

What We’re Looking For:

-          A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience (preferred)

-          A love of New York and American food, both traditional and contemporary

-          The ability to produce an exciting, executable menu in our café 

-          Creativity

       Proven experience of working within a kitchen 

       Focused on attention to detail
