An exciting opportunity is available for a Motor Mechanic to join the maintenance team ta Nepean Hospital. This position provides corrective and preventative maintenance of main plant and equipment such as boilers, medical air compressors, suction plant and other related equipment that enables the hospital to perform its core service in medical services to the public.Perform general fitting and machining work including welding, maintaining and repairing hospital furniture and fittings E.g. hospital beds and wheel chairsAn eligibility list may be created for future vacancies.About us:

Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.Selection Criteria to be Addressed:

• Current trade qualifications as a Fitter and Machinist as well as recognised certificates in Welding (light gauge preferred) and preferable if you have a boiler attendant certificate
• Demonstrated knowledge of current WHS Act and relevant regulations as well as knowledge of current relevant Australian Standards
• Demonstrated experience and ability to perform fitting and machining work and associated physical/manual labouring tasks in a safe manner on varied and complex hospital plant and equipment
• Demonstrated ability to be able to read plans, specifications and interpret drawings, estimate cost, time and materials of fitting and machining works
• Availability to be on an afterhours call roster and to attend works at the NBMLHD after hours when called upon
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and must be able to take oral and written direction from the maintenance management and maintain a co-operative working relationship with management, other trades staff and hospital staff and maintain the Health code of conduct
• Valid current NSW Drivers Licence and be able to travel within the NBMLHD as directed
• Basic computer skills
