About the role:
- Carry out inspections, repairs and maintenance on the Company’s Vessels
- Assist in Company vessel Shipyard dockings & refits.
- Assist in company vessel up grades & modifications.
- Machining of minor parts.
- Readily assist other workshop staff members in their duties
- Supervise apprentices and work experience students.
- Produce accurate engineering information and recording of data into the Engineering Maintenance Management system.
- Travel to remote areas when required for engineering support.
Skills & experience:
- Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter or Fitter and Turner
- Marine experience required, but not essential.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license, working at height training and confined space entry or willingness to obtain.
- Willingness to obtain and maintain a valid forklift license.
- High level attention to detail and accuracy
- High level of punctuality
- Understanding of Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental principles
