This is FIFO work in some of the most remote and beautiful parts of Australia.
Desert City is looking for passionate, energetic people, hiring out of Perth for full time, ongoing work in the natural resources sector.
We believe in hiring the best people and letting them share their passion and care for people working in the field. Our Chefs and Camp Attendants are encouraged to interact with customers, pay attention to feedback and own customers’ satisfaction.
Our Chefs create great menus and share their personal flair with our customers. We will draw on your experience as a chef.
Persons working in rural locations with experience as a general hand and/or working directly in customer service are really encouraged to apply for the Camp Attendant role.

We are a young, growing company and as we grow, we expect our people to grow in their roles with us. Inductions and certificates that will make your application stand out include:
- Chef qualifications (required for the Chef and Manager roles)
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate
- Oil and Gas Industry Safety Induction (ISI or DCGI)
- A national police clearance (required and dated within 3 months)
- Current 4WD certificates (PMASUP236)
- Full Australian driver license (required for all roles)
- Ability to live and work in Australia with no restrictions
As the Chef, you will be responsible for:
- Listening to customers and adapting service to the feedback
- Supporting the Chef Manager
- Preparing breakfasts and other meals; including dine in and take away
- Making bread, desserts and cakes from scratch
- General kitchen duties
- Driving between locations in the field using manual 4wd
- You may support the Camp Attendant with cleaning if required
- Owning responsibility for your own safety and those around you
As the Camp Attendant, you will be responsible for:
- Keeping all accommodation, offices, bathrooms and other areas hygienic, clean and tidy
- Laundry services
- Driving between locations in the field using manual 4wd
- Assisting in the kitchen operations with food service and cleaning
- Liaising with the supervisor to undertake other duties around the camp
- Supporting other team members with inductions and on the job training
- Providing professional and approachable level of customer service
- Listening to feedback and owning a customer’s satisfaction
