Cancer Care Nurse
Latrobe Regional Hospital have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Cancer Care Nurse to join the Chemotherapy team working part time 0.4, fixed term position until the end of December.
Reporting to the Chemotherapy Nurse Unit Manager this position plays an important role in the continuum of care for patients with cancer with the aim of improving individual health outcomes, and to provide support and advice to hospital staff and community care providers on aspects of Cancer Care management.

We are looking for candidates with:
- Professional qualification in nursing (Registered in Division 1 of the AHPRA register)
- Evidence of recent professional development in Cancer Care
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
- Evidence of recent clinical experience with cancer patients
- Knowledge of relevant evidenced based guidelines for Cancer Care
- Experience working in an interdisciplinary team
- High level of consumer advocacy
- Ability to manage the demands of a case management role for higher needs/complex cancer patients
- Understand the issues and concerns of cancer patients and their carer’s
- Awareness of community supports and services available
- Collaborate and liaise with a variety of service providers, professionals, care givers and other stakeholders
The successful applicant will:
- Understand the issues and concerns of cancer patients and their carers.
- Demonstrate a high level of competence in Cancer Care nursing
- Provide high level care co-ordination of patients diagnosed with a malignancy.
- Focus on education and support for newly diagnosed cancer patients.
- Demonstrate a high level professional engagement with a number of clinicians and peak cancer support organisations.
