The role:
Works within the duties of the Patient Safety Assistant role as per the Patient Safety Assistant (PSA) Clinical Guidelines, the Patient Safety Assistant Responsibilities and other relevant policies and procedures. The Care Assistant (Pool) provides dedicated care to assigned clients with disability, bariatric or behavioural impairments within Hospitals North – Launceston General Hospital setting under the delegation and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Enrolled Nurse (EN).

- We are seeking caring, patient and empathetic applicants wishing to dedicate their time to providing quality personal and diversional care to adult patients within the Launceston General Hospital.
- Care assistants (Pool) are supported in their role by an experienced Nursing Team from the Pool Office as well as nursing staff within clinical areas.

Details of Appointments
Multiple fixed term, full time, shift-worker (fully rotational) positions working 76 hour per fortnight, commencing from 3 March 2024 for a period of 12 months.

- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $60,666 to $63,222 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

- Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration.
*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.

- Certificate III/IV in Health Care or equivalent or Health Professional undergraduate student or qualification.
- Current first aid certificate.
