About the role

A fantastic opportunity for Parental Coverage has become available for an experienced Care Manager at Yallambee Village. As the Care Manager, supported by a Clinical Care Coordinator, you are responsible to ensure the facility is operating in line with the required standards of governance, that residents are receiving a consistently excellent level of person-centred care & customer service and employees are fulfilling their responsibilities. As a leader, you are also responsible for role modelling BCAC’s values and the behaviors that create a high performing, highly engaged team. This includes supervising nursing or care employees and creating a positive and professional work environment for residents, families, employees, doctors and allied health professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply the principles of person centered care, ensuring exceptional clinical outcomes that exceed Quality and Safety accreditation requirements
  • Respond to and effectively resolve complaints and incidents in line with organizational and statutory requirements
  • All aspects of clinical care, including assessments, care planning and ongoing evaluation of client care to ensure individual needs of clients are met and the quality of life for the resident is optimised
  • Providing clinical leadership and support to nursing and care staff in accordance with BCAC policies and procedures and the Residential Aged Care Standards
  • Liaising with residents, families and other health professionals
  • Monitoring clinical risks and contributing to continuous improvement strategies
  • Providing managerial leadership, mentoring and supervision to nursing and care staff to promote a harmonious team approach to ensure the delivery of high quality resident care

Skills you’ll need to succeed

  • Current AHPRA Registration
  • At least 2 years experience in leadership/management in Aged Care
  • A good working knowledge of clinical governance, Aged Care Legislation, and AN-ACC
  • Ensuring all administrative requirements including care plans and other programs are documented in a complete and timely manner
  • Demonstrated experience working in a 100 + high-quality Aged Care service
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to engage and influence all stakeholders, including employees, residents and families
  • Excellent relationship development, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrate experience and understanding of best practice complaints handling processes
  • Experience with the Aged Care Accreditation process
  • Strong understanding of WHS practices and guidelines
