- Building a close rapport with residents and their families. This will be at the heart of running the Unit successfully.
- A crucial aspect of the above will be leading a hard-working and caring Nursing Team, who enjoy coming to work and in turn provide quality care to residents. You will lead by example and cultivate a collaborative work culture, with a joint focus on residents.
- You will liaise closely with the Facility Manager and second Care Manager onsite.
- You will ensure as a team that the home continually meets compliance with the aged care standards and runs by the organisation's values.
Key Information:
- Salary in the region $125,000 + super + salary packaging.
- 100+ bed Nursing Home on the Northern Beaches – your role will be within the 50-bed dementia unit. There are 24/7 Registered Nurses on site.
- This is a 2IC role within the structure on site: Facility Manager (who oversees operation of the whole Nursing Home) > x2 Care Managers > Care Team.
- You will be responsible for leading the Nursing team to deliver quality care to 50 residents, whereby a strong understanding of dementia care best practices will be important.
- This Nursing Home forms part of a large portfolio of Residential Aged Care Facilities owned by a reputable not-for-profit Aged Care Provider.
Requirements:
- Division 1 AHPRA Registered Nurse – essential.
- A thorough understanding of the aged care standards and accreditation process.
- Additional certification in dementia care – desirable.
- Demonstration of continuing professional development around dementia care best practices.
- Experience in a leadership position – desirable.
- Prior experience working in residential aged care - desirable.
