Real Futures is a majority Aboriginal-owned and staffed company. We provide tailored employment services, Community Development Program (CDP), Transition to Work (TtW), Disability Employment Services (DES) across Australia and Careers Guidance Services to Adult residents of NSW. 

Real Futures is committed to local communities and their needs – our strategy strengthen our presence and our connection with stakeholders in the Geraldton area with our newly created role of Career Development Specialist for our Transition to Work team. 

A day in the life of our Career Development Specialist can include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Supporting and understanding a caseload of youth’s barriers and working together to develop education and employment goals while developing plans to support the individual to achieve these goals 
  • Engage with young people in the local community to attract eligible participants to the service
  • Attend local secondary schools to provide information to staff and students about Transition to Work, and support students who are exiting the school system to access Transition to Work Services
  • Creating and sourcing education and employment opportunities for your clients
  • Supporting and helping your clients identify their skills, abilities, and secure sustainable employment
  • Providing and delivering a high level of customer service to our clients, employers, and stakeholders
  • Building rapport and supporting our clients to increase their capacity to secure suitable employment through training and other support services
  • Conduct, create, tailor, and implement an individual service plan with the client to support them through the employment journey and into sustainable employment
  • Building sustainable and long-lasting relationships with local employers, registered training organisations and community organisations
  • Participate in local community, employment and networking events and forums to promote the Transition to Work program, and build a network of local support services and employers and maximise successful outcomes for young people

Essential

You will be an experienced and detail focused administration professional, along with:

  • Demonstrated ability to Work in an outcome-based environment toward high performance results
  • High level Administration Skills and attention to detail
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible, multi-task and work well under pressure
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and presentation skills
  • Well-developed computer literacy
  • Exceptional organisational skills abilities to manage competing priorities.
  • Understanding of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people, people with a Disability, people from CALD background and the issues they face
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Ability to comply with Real Futures’ code of conduct, company policies and procedures and uphold the organisations values in all interactions
  • Ability to Work within a team and autonomously

To be considered you must...

  • Have full working rights in Australia 
  • Have a current driver’s licence and a comprehensively insured vehicle
  • Complete an Australia History Criminal Check
  • Have a current Working with Children Check or willing to obtain a Working with Children Check before employment
  • Ability to Work Monday to Friday - 8:30am to 5:00pm
