We seek a skilled and dependable Carpenter/Handyperson to contribute to our dynamic workshop environment.
About Us:
At Axolotl, we specialise in applying unique coatings to architectural elements such as joinery, doors, panelling, signage, and sculptures. Our craftsmanship extends to producing bespoke architectural glass treatments, including forming, etching, and deep carving.
The Role:
We're looking for an honest, hardworking individual to assist in joinery and carpentry preparation tasks, ensuring surfaces are flawlessly prepared for the application of Axolotl surfaces. Your responsibilities will include:
- Filling, bogging, and sanding various surfaces to achieve a seamless finish
- Masking and taping
- Supporting workshop operations, including setup, wrapping goods, and sanding undercoats
- Handling loads of up to 30 kg
- Maintaining cleanliness in work areas and equipment
- Handle all company tools and equipment with due care and attention ensuring they remain safe, clean and in a workable condition.
- Adhere to our WHS policies including PPE.
Skills and Attributes:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proficiency in hand tools, power tools, and general handyman skills
- Ability to lift and handle a minimum of 30 kg
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Methodical work ethic and attention to detail
- Fine motor skills and ability to multi-task
- Common sense approach to problem-solving
- Capability to measure and document accurately
Advantages (not essential):
- Forklift license
- Entry-level carpentry skills
- Experience in panel beating or kitchen spray painting
