About the National Redress Scheme As part of the Department, the Redress Group is responsible for the administration the National Redress Scheme (the Scheme) for people who have experienced institutional child sexual abuse. The Scheme is a high priority for the Government and the Department, with the ongoing commitment to continually improve outcomes for survivors. The Scheme interacts with survivors to provide an outcome that can make a real difference in people's lives. The Department is committed to the success of the Scheme and developing high performing staff who provide empathic, survivor focused, trauma informed support. About the Role The Department is looking for a high preforming APS 5 to work within the Indigenous Service Delivery Stream (ISDS) to: Apply the National Redress Scheme for Institutional Child Sexual Abuse Act 2018, and relevant policies, procedures and guidelines to progress applications Provide culturally appropriate case management support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander survivors aged 55 years and older, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander survivors who request support through the ISDS team Make and receive calls to applicants and their nominees using trauma-informed principals Under limited direction, be accountable for organising workflow and escalating risks and issues when needed Key Skills Apply legislation, policies, procedures and information management requirements Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships Communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people Code application information in Case Manager, keeping accurate and comprehensive records Adapt to changing circumstances and priorities in a fast-paced and supportive environment Be resilient, persistent, result-orientated and accountable for…
