The OpportunityExplore an exciting opportunity as an APS6 Case Manager, contributing to a team responsible for the reconsideration of claims decisions. Whilst an initial 12-month contract will be offered, there is an opportunity to secure a more permanent role as the position is vacant. Transfer opportunities will be considered for exceptional candidates. Reporting to the Assistant Director, the successful candidate will assist in supervising other team members.
The RoleThe APS6 Case Manager will contribute to and manage a range of reconsiderations and will be the main decision maker for medium to low risk reconsiderations. Your role will include, but not be limited to:
- Contribute to the employer’s purpose, Corporate Plan, and claims management strategy
- Deliver reconsideration services in line with the claims management strategy
- Drive strategic direction of the work area ensuring activities align with agency goals
- Make decisions on medium to low-risk reconsiderations and support high risk decisions
- Collaborate across the organisation and client agencies to ensure consistent claims management and positive outcomes
The ideal candidate for this role possesses a strong understanding for the reconsideration of claims decisions. This individual should be committed to achieving positive outcomes for stakeholders and have experience in making decisions on low to medium risk claims. In addition to this, they should:
- Demonstrated experience in analysing information
- Ability to provide leadership to a team through the mentoring and developing of employees
- Work under limited direction
- Strong communication skills with a proven ability to negotiate and communicate with influence
A salary of $90k – $105k + 15.4% super will be offered to the successful candidate. Whilst the initial contract will be 12 months, the role is vacant so extension or permanency could be offered.
