Case Worker - Newpin

• Full Time | Maximum term position to May 2025 (Parental Leave Cover)

The New Parents and Infants Network (Newpin) is an intensive child protection and parent education program that works therapeutically with families with children 0–5 years, who are under stress to break the cycle of destructive family behaviour. The program is underpinned by trauma informed practice and aims to strengthen parent-child relationships and interactions.

Working as part of close-knit multi-disciplinary team, the Care Worker will:

• Provide both in-home and centre-based care services to children and parents
• Enable parents to develop their skills and confidence in their role as parents
• Support the provision of hands on play and developmental opportunities for children and parents
• Promote the development of strong parent-child relationships
• Assist in the prevention of child abuse and neglect

To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a relevant qualification in Early Childhood or a relevant Community Services related discipline.

You will also have:

• Demonstrated experience within the early childhood development and/or child, youth and family welfare sectors
• A trauma informed approach with sound knowledge of children's aged 0-5 physical, psychological and emotional development
• Demonstrated ability to identify and appropriately respond to risks for children
• Proven ability to work in a cooperative, flexible and professional manner with children, parents/guardians and other various stakeholders
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
