Placement Coordinator/Case Worker (Employment Consultant)

You will be a part of an innovative program, the KWJ Childcare Career Launch Pad Project, supporting and placing Learners from priority cohorts and CALD backgrounds into childcare employment whilst they undertake training in the CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care qualification.

About the Role:
Reporting to the RTO Program Manager and Education Manager Early Childhood Education and Care, this role will work with a group of diverse participants in the Bendigo region (and surrounds).
This role will engage with and support the Learner’s journey to completing their qualification. Working collaboratively with the project staff, including a Provisional Psychologist allocated to participants of the project, as well as local external agencies such as Wellbeing Advisors to advocate for a positive and healthy environment for our participants with complex needs.
You will identify and establish solid relationships with childcare providers who are able to offer sustainable employment to participants of this project. This role will connect our participants with potential employers and align the skillset need articulated by the employer to find the “right fit” participant.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Conduct and set up engagement activities and events to recruit participants into the project
- Act as the first point of contact for incoming project referrals and record all participant project enquiries
- Conduct Initial Needs Assessments (INAs) with participants to develop a tailored and comprehensive plan for each participant
- Deliver tailored workshops that provide participants with targeted skills (for example job-specific training, introduction to working in a childcare environment, succeeding at interviews, career progression strategies)
- Connect participants with potential employers for employment opportunities whilst studying CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
- Liaise with Employers for regular feedback and supporting participants to address any identified skills gaps
- Maintain accurate Learner records through the LMS

Selection Criteria:
- Experience and excellent case management skills working with Learners from CALD and disadvantaged backgrounds
- Ability to proactively address client requirements and generate appropriate solutions
- Successful employment placement and/or account management or sales experience and ability to proactively address client requirements and generate appropriate solutions
- Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills with the ability to work unsupervised and independently and prioritise work demands.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative approach to a team environment
The successful applicant will require a National Police Check, Working with Children Check and current Driver Licence.

- Experience in the Early Childhood Education and Care industry
