The Role
The Team Leader Resource Recovery and their team provide the safe day-to-day operations of Council’s transfer station and landfill sites. The role will lead a team spread across the Cassowary Coast and be accountable for the following:
- Safe and sustainable Resource Recovery at facilities
- The disposal of wet waste outside the region
- Customer advice and education within our facilities
- Manage conditions as set out in Council’s environmental authority
About You
You will have a minimum of 5 years industry experience in waste management, environmental management and civil construction. You have demonstrated leadership, team building and conflict resolution skills and a comprehensive knowledge of legislative Work Health and Safety requirements and risk assessment processes to develop a safety culture. You are able to drive operational efficiencies within the team, continual improvement of works procedures and experience in interpreting legislation of landfill environmental management practices and complying with environmental authority conditions.
Additionally, you have proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of applications, the ability to develop and manage rosters and a White Card and C class driver’s licence.
