Casual Position

About the Position
Under general direction with assistance available from senior officers, the Casual Arts Officer – Front of House is responsible for a range of duties, working at the Arts Centre and/or Sauerbier House including:
- Providing strong customer service to all attendees.
- Support for events such as exhibition openings and performances, including set up, packing down and general event preparation. Providing point of sale for ticket and art sales, opening, and closing the art galleries, and liaising with and supporting hirers.
- Providing information about events and programs to patrons.
- Responsible cash handling and managing cash floats.
About You
Your knowledge of the arts and the local area will inform your ability to provide valuable customer service for patrons, volunteers and visitors.
You will have a strong customer service focus with highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to people from various backgrounds, also working well with volunteers. In addition, you will be able to work well as part of a collaborative team to contribute to the identity and vibrancy of our local arts community.
Key Selection Criteria:
- General knowledge of the arts industry.
- An ability to provide relevant solutions to customer queries, in line with correct procedures.
- Cash handling and experience with a Point of Sale system.
- Ability to prioritise and organise tasks to meet organisational requirements.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service with the ability to relate to people from various backgrounds.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and the maintenance of a supportive work environment.
