The Derwent Sailing Squadron Inc (Squadron) is one of Tasmania’s premier yacht clubs. Located in Sandy Bay, Hobart, overlooking the River Derwent, the club has a long and proud history, with a passion for the sport of sailing and providing members with the highest quality facilities and services.
Our club comprises of a state-of-the-art marina, hardstand and slipway facilities along with our clubhouse with lounge, bar, restaurant and function space. We provide a comprehensive calendar of racing and training programs for members and the wider yachting community.

Key Responsibilities:
- Under the supervision of the Head Chef undertake kitchen operations ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Prepare for back-of-house functions with precision.
- Maintain hygiene and food safety standards at all times.
- Assist in the management of food stock levels and ordering.
- Ensure equipment is well-maintained and compliance with standards.
- Uphold environmental responsibility and comply with relevant regulations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven kitchen experience, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Chef and relevant trade qualifications.
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety practices.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment.
- Ability to meet quality standards.
- Flexibility to work on weekends, weekdays and evenings as required.
- Good interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
- First aid certificate, police check, and working with Children/Vulnerable Persons Check.

Hours
Casual up to 25+ hours per week – including evenings and weekends.
