The School ofAllied Health Science and Practice seeks Expressions of Interest from registered Physiotherapists for Casual Clinical Educator opportunities.
From the 11th June to 11th July 2024, The University of Adelaide will be conducting a five-week simulated placement experience for students before they commence to their traditional clinical placement blocks. The Simulation Clinical Placement Course consists of 20 days of simulated clinical learning over a five-week period. The simulated clinical scenarios involve trained actors playing the role of the patient. The inpatient simulated placement experience will take place within the University’s newly built 12-bed simulated hospital space, and outpatient experiences will take place within the musculoskeletal clinical teaching spaces. Experienced physiotherapists are required to facilitate and supervise these simulated learning experiences as Casual Clinical Educators.
Physiotherapists with experience in ANY of the following areas are required:
- Cardiorespiratory (11th June – 20th June)
- Neurological (11th June – 20th June)
- Musculoskeletal (24th June – 4th July)
- Orthopaedics (24th June – 4th July)
- Combination week: mixture of in-patient vs. outpatient scenarios (8th – 11th July)
Available hours range from single days, to periods of four days per week for up to five weeks. All necessary training will be provided.
Casual Rate applicable is $72.82 per hour.
Minimum requirements:
- Eligible to work in Australia
- Current AHPRA Physiotherapy Registration
Desirable (but not essential) qualities:
- Previous experience in educating or mentoring students/early career physiotherapists
- Completion of a postgraduate qualification in a relevant field
