Casual Environmental Field Officer / Bush Regenerator
Ausecology is a specialised ecology, rehabilitation and environmental consultancy. We provide efficient, practical and high-quality environmental outcomes for clients.
The successful candidate for this role will be based in the greater Brisbane region. Flexibility around availability will be highly regarded as hours may vary with up to 38 hours per week, dependent on demand. There may also be the opportunity to participate in projects further afield in South East and Central Qld, with travel, accommodation, and food provided at our expense.
There are opportunities for learning and developing skills such as chainsaw use, 4WD, trailers, and ecological burn-related activities.

Role and Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the execution of ecological restoration projects
- Follow field manual protocols, quality assurance and safety procedures
- Participate in training activities
- Complete and submit all HSE forms as they pertain to your project work
Skills and experience:
Ideal candidates will have:
- 1+ years of in-field bush regeneration, natural area technician, land conservation experience
- Plant identification skills – native and exotic across a range of ecosystem types
- Current manual driver's licence
The following skills would be highly regarded:
- Conservation and Land/Ecosystem Management (Natural Area Restoration) qualification or similar area or practical infield experience
- Large scale planting experience
- ACDC Licence
- Chemical application for weed control
- Tool maintenance
- Chainsaw cross-cut and felling
- 4WD and trailer experience
- Ecological burn experience
- First & CPR certificate
- Remote area (rural) work
