About the role:
The Casual Teacher – Allied Health Assistance provides high quality and innovative course materials and excellent
teaching delivery to Box Hill Institute students to support student success in Health courses and thereby improve their employment and/or educational
pathways.
The Casual Teacher – Allied Health Assistance is one of several positions in the Health and Community unit of the The Faculty of Health, Community & Life Sciences. The position reports to the Operations Manager Health Programs and is responsible for liaising with students, employers, relevant industry groups, services providers, overseas partners and employees of the Box Hill Institute at all levels.
About You:

• TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or a qualification at diploma level or higher in Adult Education.
• Vocational qualifications in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.
• VIT registration

Expertise:
- Adult Learning Principles: A strong understanding of learning theories, including adult learning theory and
ability to apply these in various settings.
- Vocational expertise: Current and sound experience in Health services and training delivery. Recent experience
providing supervision and delegation to Allied Health Assistants within an Allied Health environment is
essential. Experience in a vocational education training environment will be highly regarded but is not essential.
- Compliance Administration: Demonstrated ability to develop a range of complex documents that comply with
all relevant quality standards, including course materials, unit plans and assessment tools. Experience in, and a
strong ability to use, student management systems for attendance tracking, retrieval of student details where
required, and resulting.
- Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability or the capacity to work and provide support and advice to students
and BHI employees of diverse cultures, backgrounds and abilities, including effective communication, interpersonal, and coordination skills relevant to a learning environment. Ability to quickly develop rapport and positive working relations with colleagues from a range of social and cultural backgrounds.
