Australian Pork Limited (APL) has a pivotal opportunity for an experienced retail relationship or business development professional. We have been a growth story in fresh meat at a retail level for the last decade. We are looking to further improve our market position, led by consumer needs. A major part of this will be building closer relationships and joint plans with retailers as well as supply chains to improve the overall quality and scope of our offering.
As part of the marketing team, your role will be to use your retail relationship skills in combination with meat supply chain experience to take our trade relations to the next level.
This role fits into a collaborative structure and reports directly to the Marketing Director - Category. The primary role focus includes:
- Developing and executing the Retail Category plan for improved results within a major national retailer.
- Developing the Volume Foodservice Channel program strategy and overseeing the execution of the strategy;
- Supporting the development and executive of a retail program strategy for the Butcher channel;
- Turning data into actionable insights.
- Identifying growth opportunities for retailers – advising on opportunities for key shopper segments, ranging and review of communications within the category.
- Overseeing all program communications and activations to ensure alignment to overall marketing communication pillars and brand guidelines as determined by the APL Brand team.
- Interpreting and effectively executing key shopper research.
- Building a collaborative relationship with retailers to achieve business goals.
- Developing and managing shopper budget to support projects. Assessing ROI for programs.

Location and Hours
It is a full-time role, ideally based in Canberra. We are also open to candidates from Sydney.
