Our Lihir operation in Commercial is now recruiting for the position of Category Specialist.
As a Specialist, you will support the Brisbane-based Sourcing team providing expertise in the strategic procurement, delivery and management of goods and services. Your responsibilities will extend to planning of strategies, negotiation approaches, sourcing, contract management and supplier relationship management. In addition to your strong skills and experience in Category, the role requires knowledge and previous use of various company and departmental systems including SAP and Power BI.
The preferred candidate should hold a Bachelor level Commercial related tertiary qualification (Commerce, Law, Supply Chain or equivalent) with 3+ years' experience in a combination of commercial/procurement roles, ideally within the mining industry. Your proactive approach will contribute to raise the profile of the Lihir Procurement team through coaching on exceptional customer service.
