This role would ideally be suited to a Sous Chef looking to take that next step.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established business as Catering Head Chef for a well known high quality catering company located in Haymarket Sydney NSW. We are seeking an experienced chef to join and lead the team in a fun and dynamic environment and manage the kitchen operations in line with industry standards.
Our commercial kitchen operates 5 days a week (Monday - Friday) carrying serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as catering for events in evenings and weekends. Full onboard/induction training provided.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Menu Planning
* Purchasing / stock control
* Adhering to industry standards of Work, Health and Safety
* Staff training and development
* Run the kitchen operations, decrease turnaround times and streamline work processes
* Labour and Food cost control
* Ensure accurate implementation of allergy awareness controls

* Reliable and punctual
* Standard vehicle drivers license
* Excellent organisational skills, able to prioritise workloads
* Effective time management skills
* Able to work both autonomously and in a team environment
* Flexible working hours
* Able to work under pressure and stay calm in difficult situations
* Good communication skills
Knowledge & Experience:
* Methods, materials, and practices of volume food preparation.
* Health and safety standards utilised in a food service operation
* Inventory and ordering methods
* Menu planning and costing, budgeting skills
* Training and supervising catering staff
* Understanding of dietary requirements
* Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery qualification
* Food Safety/Hygiene certification
* Experience leading catering operation
* Demonstrated ability to lead a team
* Computer skills
