Rex Airlines is Australia’s largest independent regional airline operating a fleet of sixty Saab 340 aircraft to 59 destinations throughout all states in Australia. In 2020, Rex is expanding to domestic operations starting with an initial fleet of six B737-800 NG aircrafts with domestic fights operating between Mẹlbourne and Sydney on March 1, 2021. The Rex Group comprises of wholly owned subsidiaries Pel-Air Aviation (air freight and charter operator) and the Australian Airline Pilot Academy in Wagga Wagga and Ballarat.
About the roleReporting: The Catering Officer will report to the Ramp and Catering Manager. Position Responsibilities:
- Aircraft loading and unloading and assist with the completion of required documentation
- Marshalling of catering vehicles onto and away from aircraft
- Loading and unloading of catering vehicles including maintaining appropriate stock levels
- General warehouse duties, including but not limited to;
- Receiving stock from suppliers
- Temperature recording of food, fridges and vehicles
- Building or replenishing food, bar and stores drawers in accordance with specifications
- General stock counts and stock rotation
- Assembling flights sets in accordance with specifications
- Counting and reconciliation of bar sheets (in Port Supervisors absence)
- Ensuring cleanliness of the warehouse in maintained
- Assist with daily GSE checks, refuelling of GSE and reporting of unserviceability
- Be aware and assist with the safety and security of all personnel on the aircraft apron
- Report any accidents and/or incidents in the correct manner
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures
- Assist with Ramp duties as required
Selection Criteria:
- Previous airline experience is preferred
- Able to obtain an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card) and Airside Driver’s Licence
- Current driver’s licence.
- Current MR licence desirable
- Able to work shift work that includes early starts, evenings, and weekend work
- High standard of physical fitness
- High standard of professionalism
- Ability to work in a team environment and a commitment to on-time performance
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment in a variety of weather conditions
