Central Adelaide Waste and Recycling Authority (CAWRA) is a joint initiative of the Cities of Charles Sturt and Port Adelaide Enfield which seeks to actively support SA communities to recycle and enhance the circular economy. CAWRA is a regional subsidiary formed under the local Government Act and aims to lead, coordinate and manage waste-related services for the two constituent councils. The principal focus is on the management and processing of recycled materials through the Materials Recycling Facility (MRF).
Successful applicants will have:
- A broad understanding of the local government environment
- Skills and knowledge in financial management, business acumen and governance
- Significant Board experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work constructively with other Committee Members, management and stakeholders
- Ability to think critically, demonstrate independent judgement and challenge management decisions or recommendations
- Confidence in providing findings, advice and recommendations to other Board Members, and stakeholders within the wider organisation
- The ability to provide insight, advice and guidance on best practice
- Strategic thinking skills
- An interest and commitment to delivering public value
The CAWRA Board consists of 7 Members and meets no less than 4 times per year.
