Do work that matters:
As a Chapter Lead within the center of excellence for Decisioning chapter, you will enable the chapter to deliver in line with Squad strategy. You will provide expert advice relating to technology, people management, contributing to the architecture roadmap. You'll also play an important role in steering the chapter by contributing to the tech strategy and determining which problems to invest in solving. You will bring a perfect blend of people management and technical knowledge to this team and will be responsible for shaping its evolution.
Your role will focus on enabling agility within the Chapter, inspiring the squad to embody future ways of working to implement, support, deliver consistently in line with strategic outcomes of the practice area.

Chief Data and Analytics Office is responsible for CommBank's key analytics capabilities and work to create world-leading capabilities for analytics, information management and decisioning. We work across the Teradata Group Data Warehouse, Hadoop Big Data Platform, Analytics Workbench for Machine Learning, Pega Decisioning, SAS, R, Tableau, Oracle BI, Ab Initio. - Great in contributing to the CommBank's Engineering Management Practice by coaching and mentoring engineers and raising the bar of discipline across the Chapter
- Inspired to drive an open and safe Tech culture of growth and continuous improvement (CI) based on data(metrics) by fostering an engineering culture of excellence.
- Adept with managing and influencing a wider stakeholder group to promote team's ideas by being their voice in leadership forums, acting as a liaison between business and tech teams.
- Passionate about driving operational excellence, identify technology limitations in existing systems to support the squad with mission-critical applications to develop scalable solutions.
- Able to drive data transformational projects, creating a positive leadership impact within the crews by encouraging diversity of thoughts, to uplift the chapter's overall technical capability.
Tech skills
We use a broad range of innovative tools, scalable platforms and process frameworks as a technology driven banking organization. We do not expect you to know them all but deep experience or exposure in leading largely diverse group of engineering crews in a similar environment will set you up for success in this role!
- People management with previous experience in playing leadership roles within data engineering chapter.
- Expertise in leading and driving team of engineers that work with Pega Decisioning, AWS and CI/ CD will be highly desirable.
