We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and driven Chef / Café & Restaurant Manager with strong work ethics, high personal standards, and interpersonal abilities for the busy service café.
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Woking hour: 38hr/week.
Salary: $70,000 annually commensurate with experience.
Requirements:
- Holds Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Diploma level qualification
- The ability to stand for extended periods
- The ability to work under pressure
- The ability to follow instructions
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Patient and detail-oriented
Experienced Required: 2+ years
Responsibilities
Chef:
- Cooking and preparing food items as per the menu.
- Assisting with planning menu and implementation with the team.
- Supervising and training new staff members
- Supervising food service of functions
- Monitoring and controlling wastage, portion control on a day-to-day basis
- Responsible to ensure food safety and kitchen sanitation as per the norm
- Responsible for kitchen maintenance
- Maintaining hotel standards for food presentation and service
- Ensuring the food is of standard specifications and of the highest quality
- Safe handling and storage of food items at the relevant recommended temperatures.
- Rotating stock on FIFO basis including meat, poultry, seafood, vegetables, and dry goods
- Prepare and implementing workflows to ensure work is carried out hygienically and methodical manner.
- Communicating effectively with and supporting other kitchen team members and restaurant staff.
Café & Restaurant Manager:
- Managing day to day operation
- Stock purchase and inventory management
- Prepare Staff Rosters
- Responsible for staff labour cost
- Staff Hiring, performance appraisal and disciplinary requirements
- Responsible to comply with all statutory and regulatory requirement
- Store cleanliness and sanitary procedures
- Cash handling
- Store security requirements
- Maintain occupational health and safety requirements
- Menu Planning and implementation
