On behalf of our client, we’re looking for a Chef De Partie.
The role will be assisting in maintaining an efficient, professional, and profitable operation with maximum quality and presentation of product and service quality to all clients both internal and external. Control and manage on duty performance and be responsible for the function and of your section to the Executive Chef and Chef in Charge.
The daily duties and responsibilities include:
- Directly report to the Sous or Executive Chef & will run your own section, ensuring service is smooth as well as assist with other sections if they require help
- Maintain excellent presentation standards and cost control for all food and beverage outlets
- Supervise the kitchen in the absence of the Executive and Sous Chef
- Delegate duties and responsibilities to kitchen employees to ensure service demands are met
- Liaise with restaurant employees regarding the availability of menu items, daily specials, and any relevant changes
- Assist the Executive and Sous Chef with menu preparation and ensure adequate supplies are available for expected service
- Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage. Have stock control procedures implemented and maintained.
- Works with and co-ordinates the work of apprentices in the preparation and production of food as required
- Keep all working areas clean and tidy & ensure all equipment is maintained, serviced, and cleaned to WHS standards
Education – Associated Degree, Advanced Diploma, Diploma or related qualification desirable. Industry experience may substitute where the candidate has no less than 3 years of full-time experience.
Experience & Skills
- 3+ years of Industry experience
- Excellent administration, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environment
- Strong decision-making skills
- People orientated
- Understanding of and the ability to maintain food safety standards and HACCP
- Ability to maintain high and consistent standards - Excellent organisational skills & grooming standards.
Salary: Salary being offered is commensurate with qualifications and experience with a range between $70,000 and $90,000
