In the role of Chef de Partié & Commis, we are looking for:
- Accomplished all-rounder, able to do all sections in all outlets ( grill, pan skill, cool larder)
- An ability to work unsupervised and with direction
- Work closely with senior chefs regarding menus, rostering, budgets
- A passion to learn but to also train junior chefs
- Capability to perform in a fast paced and high-volume kitchen
- Can lead the kitchen departments to deliver quality food and service
- Possess a trade Qualification in Commercial Cookery
- Ensuring strict stock rotation and minimum wastage
- Must example confident knife handling skills
- Able to work a 5-day roster week with 2 days off with a mix of mornings to late nights, public holidays and weekends
- Ability to be a team player and help in other roles in the kitchen i.e kitchen hand when needed
- Ability to work in open kitchens
Required skills and work ethic:
- Reliable and punctual
- Manage workloads to meet deadlines for made to order products
- Passionate about baking with amazing quality produce and following our traditional methods.
- Have a good work ethic
- A team player
- Be enthusiastic and have a positive attitude
- Strong communication skill
- Minimum 6 months experience as a pastrycook with a relevant Certificate 3 or above. Or 2 years of experience without a relevant certificate.
