Workplace Location
Situated in Sydney€™s suburban south west, Regis Hurstville is a 96-bed home offering ageing-in-place, palliative care and respite care. Hurstville also features a Regis Reserve wing offering TV and Foxtel, Wifi, dedicated dining and living areas, hairdressing, barber services and more. Regis Hurstville offers a Family Room for when a loved one is in palliative care. Equipped with a sofa bed, tea & coffee making facilities and a pamper trolley, these private rooms offer space and comfort for families.
About the role
This role is 100% hands on in all aspects of running the kitchen. As the Chef Manager, you will have the responsibility of overseeing traditional compliance activities including food safety, OHS, and quality. The successful applicant will be working four, nine hour shifts per week , with an additional four hour shift every second week, typically used for administration purposes. One shift per week will be a weekend shift.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Resident dietary management
- Stock control and ordering
- Leading and motivating the kitchen team
- Full oversight of kitchen compliance including food safety, WHS and quality
- Provide management and guidance to the kitchen staff, ensuring a smooth operation
- Strong front of house presence including communication with residents and families
- Service excellence around all aspects of the dining experience
- Production and delivery of high quality meals
- Kitchen and food cost management
Skills & Experience
- Willingness to work as part of a broader catering team to continually improve the catering experience in our facilities
- Time management and interpersonal skills
- Experience working within set budgets
- Experience within Aged Care would be advantageous
- Chef Qualifications　and experience and understanding　of special dietary needs
- Staff management experience
Mandatory requirements for all candidates
- Evidence that you have had the 2020 Flu Vaccination or willingness to complete this before employment can be offered*
- Proof of the right to work lawfully in Australia
- Valid National Police Check
* The Australian Government has advised that all residential Aged Care staff and visiting workers should be vaccinated by 1 May 2020. This includes both current and future Regis employees.
