We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our offshore floating terminal, the Ikamba
As the Offshore Chef, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being and satisfaction of our crew members through the provision of high-quality meals in a dynamic offshore environment.
This is a 2:2 FIFO role. Applicants must reside in Bamaga, Mapoon, Weipa, or Cairns.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook high-quality, high-volume meals for crew members in accordance with dietary requirements and preferences.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
- Manage inventory, ordering, and stocking of kitchen supplies and equipment.
- Collaborate with other team members to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Adapt to varying schedules and menu requirements in a dynamic offshore setting.
About you
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Proven experience as a Chef or Cook, preferably in an offshore or maritime environment
- Cert III minimum in Commercial Cookery
- Food Safety Supervisor qualification
- First Aid & CPR certification
- AMSA certifications highly regarded or willing to obtain
- Successfully complete a pre-employment medical
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety practices, and menu planning.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote offshore location, often under challenging conditions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
