Chef/Cook for Early Childhood Centre
Are you passionate about cooking delicious and nutritious meals for children? Do you thrive in a kitchen environment where you have the autonomy to make it your own? We are currently seeking a dedicated Cook/Chef to join our team 5 days a week, at Kindilan Early Childhood Centre Inc, a not-for-profit, community based Long Day Care Centre.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare nutritious meals for up to 90 children per day from a set menu.
- Order and maintain stock levels to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Conduct prep work, cooking, baking, and washing up duties.
- Work with commercial appliances including a combi oven.
- Collaborate with management and staff in menu planning.
- Take ownership of kitchen operations and maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred, but not essential. Orientation will be provided.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently manage kitchen tasks.
- Passion for creating healthy and delicious meals for children.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs.
- Working with Children Check and Food Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Attendance at monthly staff meetings (paid).
